Meredith Johns is an Emmy Award nominated Makeup and FX Artist and co-owner of Hawgfly Productions in Austin, TX. She also placed 2nd in the World Bodypainting Festival for FX Makeup and has one several awards for her Makeup and FX work.
In her 20+ years in the business Meredith has worked in Film/TV, print, commercials, events, and with various YouTube/Influencer/Steaming clients. She also works with private clients creating makeup, hair and FX looks.
Meredith has worked with numerous studios including 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Netflix, Amazon Prime, CBS, NBC, HBO, Hulu, and CW. She has also worked with a wide range of brands such as Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Walmart, Target, Amazon, Instagram, Nike, Reebok, Converse, Gold’s Gym, Facebook, Home Depot, Lowes and many more.

Meredith was born in Austin, TX and grew up in a family of artists. She was handed a paint brush at an early age and learned sculpting as well as creating all kinds of arts and crafts. Her BA in Advertising, Japanese minor, and experience studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan might seem like an odd offshoot from her current career, but sometimes the universe has another plan. Meredith volunteered on a zombie movie in 2003, fell in love with the film industry and left her budding graphic design career to join the circus... aka film/TV production.
When Meredith is not making art in her FX studio or on set she’s at home with her dog Nibbler watching horror movies, 3D modeling/printing, traveling the world or out diving with sharks. She lives for a challenge and an adventure and has become the artist you call “when it’s weird.”
